Advertising and Submissions

A limited amount of space is available in the newsletter for local services and businesses to advertise. The Piper is published four times per year, in February, June, September, and December. The usual deadline for advertising submissions is the last day of the month before publication (i.e. January 31, May 31, August 20, and November 30). Because the space available for advertising is limited to a total of 1/2 page, it is advisable to submit advertising requests well in advance of the deadline.

Submissions from other community organizations who may wish to distribute information to our neighbourhoods are accepted, however they will only be inserted if space is available. The deadline for outside submissions is the same as the advertising deadline noted above.

The Piper is reliably delivered by Canada Post to over 6700 households and businesses, with a population of over 16,600! (source: Edmonton municipal census, 2008) Because of the limited space for advertising and high visibility of our community newsletter, advertisements are very likely to get noticed and generate a positive response for your business

Rates for advertisements are as follows:

• $50 for a text-only advertisement (under 60 words)
• $75 for a business-card-sized ad (3.5" by 2", approximately 1/8 page)
• $125 for a 1/4 page ad - 3.5" by 4.5"
• $250 for a 1/2 page ad - 7.25" by 4.5"
